Wintertour - "De Friese Elfstedentocht"

Cabrio in de winterstalling?? Natuurlijk niet!!

Op zondag 12 februari 2012 organiseert Cabriotour.nl alweer de vierde (!) editie van de populaire “Wintertour”. Deelnemers uit binnen- en buitenland zullen ditmaal naar Friesland moeten afreizen, want het thema van deze editie is “De Friese Elfstedentocht”! Haal dus de schaatsen maar uit het vet, want als er ijs ligt mag er op de pauzepunten natuurlijk geschaatst worden! :)

Aangezien de hele Elfstedentocht wel erg lang is voor een dakloze tocht, hebben we besloten om de drie Noordelijkste steden over te slaan, maar in grote lijnen wordt de originele route verder zoveel mogelijk gevolgd.

De Wintertour bestaat dit jaar uit een middagprogramma van circa 13:00 – 17:00 uur, en de route zal circa 120 KM beslaan.

Vertrekpunt is het mooie, nieuwe Van der Valk Hotel in Sneek, waar vandaan de route natuurlijk langs de Friese Elfsteden zal leiden, maar ook door (hopelijk) bevroren landschappen en langs ijzige sloten en meren. Ook schitterende uitzichten over het IJsselmeer maken natuurlijk deel uit van de route.

Kortom; het belooft wederom een gezellige dag te worden, met bekende en onbekende Cabriorijders uit de hele Benelux. Check één van de diverse fotoverslagen van vorige wintertours!

A Magical step back in time

The Goodwood Revival really is a magical step back in time, a unique chance to revel in the glamour and allure of motor racing in the romantic time capsule of the golden era of motor racing at one of the world’s most authentic circuits.

The Revival is the world’s most popular historic motor race meeting and the only event of its kind to be staged entirely in the nostalgic time capsule of the 1940s, 50s and 60s that relives the glory days of Goodwood Motor Circuit. It is the biggest and best historic motor racing party of the year.

The Revival offers visitors the opportunity to leave the ‘modern world’ behind and join motor sport luminaries including Sir Stirling Moss, Richard Attwood, John Surtees and Derek Bell in an unabashed celebration of flat-out wheel-to-wheel racing around a classic racetrack, untouched by the modern world.

 
2012 Revival to Mark the 50th Anniversary of the AC Cobra With a Unique One-Model Race

The finest collection of significant and authentic racing AC Cobras ever assembled in the UK will gather at next year’s Goodwood Revival (14-16 September 2012) for an exceptional one-model race.

To mark the 50th anniversary since Carroll Shelby’s introduction of the initial versions of this cult Anglo-American sports car, the 2012 Revival will feature a grid exclusively made up of 30 Cobras and their derivatives. This special all-Cobra race will be a 45-minute two-driver competition, with driver changes in the pits between 15 and 30 minutes.

It is expected that this one-off race will feature an extraordinary mix of historically-significant competition Cobras, including some of the special-bodied aerodynamic Cobra-based coupés. Goodwood also hope that Carroll Shelby will be able to attend the 2012 Revival in person as well, although this is yet to be confirmed.

The race promises to make for an intriguing spectacle and a fitting tribute to one of the world’s most revered, and copied, sports car which has a long association with Goodwood. An exceptional line-up of top drivers is expected to campaign the Cobras.

We hebben het genoegen jullie uit te nodigen op zaterdag 26 februari op onze jaarlijkse zwarte jattendag.
 
Deze dag kunnen wij weer van 10.30 tot 16.00 uur terecht bij onafhankelijk Lotus specialist van STEN engineering in den Hoorn(ZH). Na jaren te gast te zijn geweest, zijn we nu van harte welkom in het nieuwe pand aan de Vrij-harnasch 22. Ook hier zijn hefbruggen, gereedschap en genoeg hulpvaardige handen van medeclubleden om de diverse tips direct in de praktijk te kunnen brengen!
 
Uiteraard zullen wij zorgen voor koffie, broodjes, versnaperingen en garagezeep.
